Ukraine, Malta agree to deepen all-round cooperation

KIEV, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held talks here on Tuesday with his visiting Maltese counterpart Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and they agreed to deepen all-round cooperation between their countries.

During the talks, the two leaders agreed to strengthen collaboration in such spheres as aviation, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmacology, tourism, business, education, and energy efficiency, said Poroshenko's press service.

In particularly, Poroshenko and Preca arranged a deal to launch a direct air route between their countries starting from spring 2018 and discussed a possibility of the establishment of a hub for servicing Ukrainian aircrafts in Malta.

Besides, on the sidelines of the meeting, representatives of Ukraine and Malta signed an agreement to enhance the cooperation between the states in the sphere of youth development, physical education and sports.

Preca arrived in Kiev earlier on Tuesday for a two-day state visit.
