KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least 12 Taliban militants were killed and 12 others wounded following a series of airstrikes conducted by Afghan air-force in three northern provinces, an official said Tuesday.
Afghan air force planes bombed different militants' hideouts in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province, Qaisar district of Faryab and in the partially secure Baharak district of Badakhshan province over the last 24 hours, Ghulam Hazrat Karimi, a press officer of army 20 Pamir Division based in the region, told Xinhua.
Several Taliban's bunkers and hideouts were also destroyed by the raids, he added.
On Monday, six militants were killed in an Afghan forces onslaught in Kunduz.
Afghan security forces have beefed up security operations against militants as the war-weary people are facing upsurges in attacks by Taliban and IS militants across the country.
