MINSK, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree on minimizing the interference of controllers in the economic activities of business entities, the press service of the head of state said Monday.

The decree signed on Monday, provides that the supervisors in their activities will now focus on preventive work, expand technical and verifying measures instead of inspections.

The document stipulates a refusal from the system of planned inspections, when a business entity can be inspected even if there are no violations or other valid reasons. Instead of planned inspections, now it is proposed to carry out selective inspections. They will be carried out only if there are complex bases.

The controllers also will not be able to issue an order to suspend the activity of the audited entity, its shops, equipment, production - they will only be able to give such a recommendation.

For committing gross violations during inspections, inspectors will be punished with a fine.

The State Control Committee provides the creation of an Interdepartmental Council for Control (Supervisory) Activities, whose main task will be to analyze the status of control (supervisory) activities.
