Asia-Pacific Golf Summit to be held in Vietnam

HANOI, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Asia-Pacific Golf Summit will be held on Nov. 14 in Vietnam's central Da Nang city, the municipal Department of Tourism said on Sunday.

Golf course owners, operators and developers, and club managers from the Asia-Pacific region will attend the summit and the Asia Pacific Inter-Club Golf Tournament at the Da Nang Golf Resort.

Da Nang, which earned 68 million U.S. dollars last year from golf tourism, plans to gain 186 million U.S. dollars in the next five years, when the city has three more golf courses.

Up to 169 golf tourism firms in Asia plan to do business in Vietnam which houses 32 golf courses, according to the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
