PARIS, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- French shares closed almost flat on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.03 percent, or 1.60 points, to close at 5,360.81 points.
A total of 21 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day. Steel giant ArcelorMittal soared 2.66 percent, becoming the biggest bluechip winner.
French multinational construction corporation Company de Saint-Gobain rose 1.25 percent and French cosmetics company L'OREAL gained 1.24 percent.
French ophthalmic lenses producer Essilor went down by 1.88 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French banking giant BNP Paribas edged down 1.13 percent and Oil and gas firm Technipfmc lost 0.92 percent. Enditem
