KIEV, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday has appreciated the role of the Council of Europe in assisting Ukraine in the implementation of economic, political and administrative reforms in the past three years.

"Looking back at the accomplishments of Ukraine, I am particularly pleased that the 2015-2017 Action Plan of the Council of Europe for Ukraine has become our common story of success," Poroshenko was quoted by his press service as saying during the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg, France.

In particular, Poroshenko has underscored the achievements his country has made in implementing decentralization, anti-corruption, financial, banking and justice system reforms.

The Ukrainian president pledged to do his utmost to push forward further positive changes in the country.

Poroshenko delivered his speech in PACE for the first time since June 2014.

Earlier on Wednesday, Poroshenko met with the newly-appointed PACE President Stella Kyriakides to discuss Ukraine's crisis and the country's progress in implementing reforms.
