Football Federation presents "Palancas Negras" award

LUANDA, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has presented on Wednesday in Luanda the "Palancas Negras2017" football prize, aimed at distinguishing sports officials and institutions that stand out throughout the sporting seasons in the country.

According to a press note from the FAF, the first edition of the prize will take place on December 16 in a gala, where 23 categories will be awarded, with emphasis on career award, merit award for a social project in the sport field.

The "Palancas Negras" football prize, an initiative of the FAF, aims to promote the various players and enhances national football. The initiative of the governing body of national football also serves to honor the people who have made the history of national sport.

In addition to isolated actions, such as Radio 5, which distinguishes the best of the national championship of the first division (Girabola), this is a pioneer of the governing body of the sport, chaired by Artur Almeida e Silva.

This is an initiative that may contribute to change the image of the national football, at a time that the Angolan Federation had pledged to fight against corrupt referees and officials.
