ANTANANARIVO, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The number of people killed by plague has risen to 48 in Madagascar, authorities said on Tuesday.
During the Aug. 1-Oct. 10 period, the health ministry identified 449 cases of plague, including 322 pulmonary plague, 123 for bubonic plague, and one septicemia plague.
The remaining three were suspected cases.
