DUBAI, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday said that a "media campaign" by Qatar against the UAE's role in Yemen's war has failed, while reaffirming its political commitment to Yemen.

In three tweets posted on his Twitter account, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash wrote that Qatar has lost credibility as its "negative role is confined to money and media."

The UAE minister, who regularly comments on the diplomatic rift with Qatar on Twitter, vowed that the UAE's political commitment to Yemen and the Saudi-led alliance will not be undermined by "money and media."

He added that the "policies to support extremism led Qatar to isolate itself, and its shameful attitude toward Yemen is opposed by its citizens."

Since March 2015, a Saudi-led military coalition has been fighting the Houthi rebels in the Arab peninsula state of Yemen. The UAE is one of the nine Arab states to support Yemen's internationally recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi in its fight against the Houthis.

The Saudi Arabia-led Arab quartet, which also includes the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt, cut diplomatic ties with Qatar on June 5 and has imposed an air, sea and land embargo against the tiny gas-rich Gulf state, citing Doha's support to terrorism and extremists.

Qatar has strongly denied these charges and has been seeking diplomatic and economic support from Turkey and Iran, which is Saudi's arch rival, to break the blockade.
