Indonesia to play Spain in play-off at badminton world junior championship

JAKARTA, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- After winning Group H1 Indonesian young shuttlers will face opponent from Spain, the champion of Group H2 in the badminton world junior championship in Yogyakarta province of Indonesia, Indonesian team manager said on Tuesday.

Indonesian young badminton players defeated Brazil and Mongolia in the Group H1 and Spain defeated El Salvador and Finland in the Group H2, manager of Indonesian team Susi Susanti said.

"Based on the quality of players we are optimistic to win," Susanti said in the Indonesian badminton association's website.

The manager was confidence that the opportunity for the Indonesian shuttlers to defeat Spain is bigger as she will deploy best players in the match with Spain on Wednesday.

"The athletes must fully concentrate and hopefully we will win tomorrow," she added.

The badminton world junior championship kicked off on Monday (Oct. 9) and will end on Oct. 22 in the Among Rogo sport stadium of Yogyakarta province.

Indonesia has set a two-gold target in the international tournament, according to the manager.
