RABAT, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan Prime Minister Saad-Eddine El Othmani and French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian vowed here on Monday to cement bilateral partnership.
The two sides expressed their willingness to give new impetus to bilateral ties and open new prospects for cooperation ahead of their next annual high-level meeting, particularly in the areas of boosting investment and training programs, the PM office said in a statement following the talks.
They also praised the historical friendship between the two countries, stressing their commitment to their partnership.
During the talks, the two sides touched on various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including expanding trade, combating terrorism, fighting climate change, managing migration, and boosting cultural exchanges.
They also exchanged views regarding regional issues of common interest and explored means to implement their joint policies toward the development of Africa.
France is the leading foreign investor in Morocco, its second-largest supplier(5 billion U.S. dollars in exports in 2016), and its second-largest client(4.9 billion U.S. dollars in imports in 2016).
