BEIJING, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Local favorite Peng Shuai and her partner Sania Mirza of India were knocked out by Swiss Martina Hingis and Chan Yung-jan of Chinese Taipei 2-6, 6-1, 10-5 in the China Open women's doubles semifinals here on Saturday.

"I think my service games could have been better. My legs were not moving fast as well," Peng said after the match, "but this is the last doubles match of the year for me, so we go all out. And we'll start preparing for next year's doubles."

Last month, Peng and Miraz also lost the semifinal to Hingis and Chan who went on to claim the Wuhan Open doubles title.

At the China Open, Peng retired from her singles third round match on Thursday due to a knee injury in the first set against Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia.

"It had some effects because I couldn't exert all my strength. It was not just about serving, but the speed," Peng added, "If I had enough rest, I could do better."
