NEW DELHI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- A major fire that broke out Friday evening at an oil depot on an island off the coast of India's financial capital Mumbai is still raging Saturday, police said.
"The blaze started late Friday evening on Butcher Island, but it has not been contained yet. Firefighting operations are still on," a senior police official said.
However, there have been no reports of any casualty so far, he said. "All those in the depot have been evacuated," the official said.
The depot on Butcher Island is used by Indian port authorities to offload crude oil from tankers and store it.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. "A probe has been ordered into the incident," the official added.
