LONDON, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.01 percent, or 0.53 points, to close at 7,467.58 points.
WPP, a British multinational advertising and public relations company, soared by 2.86 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Anglo American and Mondi increased by 2.36 percent and 2.07 percent, respectively.
Centrica, an energy and services company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.08 percent. Tesco, a British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer, dropped 3.21 percent. SSE, a British energy company, fell by 3.19 percent. Enditem
