LONDON, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Transport for London (TfL) has said it will take transportation service company Uber several weeks to win back its trust after a meeting between senior officials and the company's new chief executive, local media reported.

The meeting followed TfL's decision to revoke Uber's license to operate in London amid safety fears.

A spokesperson for the taxi-hailing app said the meeting was "constructive" and that it hoped to have more discussions.

TfL said talks "centered on what needs to happen to ensure a thriving taxi and private hire market in London".

"Further steps in this process will take place over the coming weeks," they added.

There will be no immediate resolution to the transport commission's complaints, both parties said, although the meeting showed Uber's willingness to work with the regulator.

There were few signs of progress at the late afternoon meeting in London, despite the time pressure. If the talks fail, Uber has until Oct. 13 to appeal the decision or be banned from the city entirely.
