Afghanistan condemns Las Vegas shooting

KABUL, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan on Tuesday strongly condemned a shooting attack in Las Vegas of the United States which killed at least 59 people, said the country's Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said in a statement that "Afghanistan condemns in the strongest terms the evil act of shooting in the U.S. City of Las Vegas, in which many people were killed and over 500 injured."

"The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan also extends its deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and wishes those injured in the incident urgent recovery," it added.

On Sunday evening, a gunman opened fire from a hotel in Las Vegas in the U.S. state of Nevada towards an open-air music festival, causing the heavy casualties.
