Men fire at high-speed train in Frankfurt, no injuries

FRANKFURT, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Three men are believed to have fired at a high-speed ICE train from the woodlot beside the rail track here on Monday afternoon, damaging the windshield of the train, German media FOCUS reported.

No one on board the train was injured.

The shooting took place around 3.30 p.m. local time (1330 GMT), when the train carrying 400 passengers was on its way from Munich to Essen, approaching Frankfurt Airport Station.

All passengers had disembarked the train at Frankfurt Airport Station before police began the investigation.

Police suspect the perpetrators had used an air gun.

The police are currently hunting for the suspects.
