MOSCOW, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday on Facebook that the U.S. authorities tried to infiltrate into its property in San Francisco.

The ministry released a video clip showing two men checking something at the door of a compound at night. It did not disclose when and where the footage was shot.

"The terror that flaps in the night ... Representatives of the U.S. special forces and police continue to practice illegal intrusion into the territory of the Russian facilities and violating international law and its own legislation," it said.

On Sept. 2, U.S. authorities shut down the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco and trade missions in Washington D.C. and New York City.

The closure of the three facilities was in retaliation for the Russian decision in July to cut the number of U.S. diplomatic staff by 755 people and seize two U.S. properties in Moscow.

Moscow-Washington ties have reached a low point due to the ongoing war of mutual sanctions.
