RAMALLAH, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said in a news briefing upon his arrival at Erez crossing Monday that no Palestinian state would be established without geographical unity between Gaza and the West Bank.

Hamdallah voiced appreciation to the role Egypt played into realizing the breakthrough in the efforts of the Palestinian reconciliation.

The Palestinian prime minister said "we are back again to Gaza in order to achieve reconciliation and unity and end of internal division."

He said "we are here to tell the whole world from the heart of Gaza that the Palestinian state won't be established without the unity of Gaza and the West Bank."

"From now and further everyone will be involved in the efforts of reconstructing the Gaza Strip and boosting the steadfastness of the people of Gaza and protest their freedoms," he added.

Hamdallah urged the masses to unite and back the efforts to achieve national unity and reconciliation, by placing the national priorities on top of any other partisan interests.

He explained that the government will "immediately handover the ministries in the Gaza Strip and will immediately start performing," adding that three committees were already formed to deal and manage outstanding administrative issues, mainly the question of Gaza employees in accordance to Cairo agreement."

While observers say it is still early to judge the success of the reconciliation process, Hamdallah said "the success of the government is linked to its abilities to implement its plans on the ground and make a real change that the residents would feel and touch."

"We are confidence that the atmosphere of understandings and positivity are dominating and we are looking for more serious work with all powers and factions and institutions to rescue our beloved people in Gaza," he said.

The last time the prime minister in Gaza was in late 2014.

"We are standing before a series of steps and programs that relax the hard life in Gaza and then the international community will be asked to stand to our side and bear its responsibility and contribute in reconstructing the Gaza Strip," Hamdallah said.
