JAKARTA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Consumer price index in Indonesia kept easing in September as prices of several food commodities weakened significantly.
National statistics bureau announced on Monday that inflation continued to decrease to 3.72 percent in September from a year earlier, compared with 3.82 percent in August.
On month, inflation reached 0.13 percent in September from 0.07 percent deflation in August, head of the bureau Kecuk Suhariyanto said.
"There are some food commodity prices significantly contributing to the inflation," he told a press conference at the bureau headquarters.
Core inflation, excluding volatile food prices and administered prices, rose to 3.00 percent in September from a year ago, compared with 2.98 percent in August, said Suhariyanto.
Indonesian central bank, Bank Indonesia, has made forecast that inflation would be at four percent or lower at the end of this year.
