PARIS, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and eight others injured in an apartment fire in the eastern French city of Mulhouse Sunday night, French media reported.
The fire erupted in the stairwell and 50 firefighters were dispatched to the scene before the fire was brought under control, according to national TV network BFMTV.
Mulhouse is the second-largest city in the Alsace region.
