MEXICO CITY, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese trade associations in Mexico on Friday donated 25 tons of aid to the victims of the two quakes which have shaken the country in September.

"Even though some of us do not speak Spanish, or cannot communicate with you (Mexicans) as we would like, we do not have the same culture...but our mission in Mexico is the same, helping the Mexican people who have opened their arms to us," said Jenny Wang, the director of the Zhonghua Business Association in Mexico.

Leading the delivery of the 25 tons of goods, donated through the 10 enterprises making up the association, Wang said this delivery, worth over 442,000 pesos (25,000 U.S. dollars) would be sent to Chiapas and Oaxaca.

Last week, a delivery of lanterns, batteries and tents was sent to central Morelos, for a value of 353,000 pesos (20,000 U.S. dollars).

The delivery was coordinated with the Justice Court of Mexico City and the Ministry of National Defense.

"Chinese brothers, we send special thanks to the Chinese community who joined us in solidarity with deep humanity," Alvaro Perez, President of Justice Court, said in a statement.

The number of dead from the 7.1 earthquake on September 19 has climbed to 355, including 214 in Mexico City.

The previous earthquake, measuring 8.4 on September 7, shook the southern part of the country and killed 98 people in the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas and Tabasco.
