Armenia, Russia urge cooperation in healthcare

Yerevan, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received here Tuesday Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova, who arrived in Armenia to participate in the Third Armenian-Russian Healthcare Conference, announced the official website of the Armenian Presidency.

According to Sargsyan, the already traditional conference is a very good platform for public and private healthcare institutions of the two countries to develop cooperation, to hold professional discussions and share experience.

The president noted the importance of the issues in the agenda of the conference, including healthcare reforms, integration processes taking place in the field, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Russian minister of health stressed that the formed fruitful cooperation allowed both sides to ascertain tangible results of joint work.

The minister presented new directions of cooperation with Armenia, opportunities for sharing experience, on which certain agreements were reached with the Armenian counterpart.

Armenia and Russia in 2017 celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
