CHINA-QINGHAI-SNOW LEOPARDS-STUDY (CN)

Staff member Cai Xiangtai (L) with Qilian Mountain Nature Reserve Administration and Xue Yadong, a researcher with Chinese Academy of Forestry, examine images shot by an infrared camera in a study program of snow leopards on the Qilian Mountain, northwest China's Qinghai Province, Sept. 21, 2017. The study program, starting from this June in Tianjun and Qilian Counties, arranged a total of 154 infrared cameras on the mountain, of which 40 ones caught the images of snow leopards. Researchers wrapped up the first phase of research with data collection on Sept. 25. They have altered batteries and storage cards for infrared cameras so as to retrieve more data on April of next year. (Xinhua/Wang Bo)
