LUANDA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Joao Lourenco was sworn in as Angola's new president on Tuesday in the country's capital Luanda.
The inauguration ceremony was held at Luanda's Republic Square. Over 1,000 national and foreign guests, including 30 heads of state and government, attended the ceremony.
Lourenco, 63, and the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) are the winners of the August 23 general elections, winning 61 percent of the votes.
