SINGAPORE, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean said on Tuesday that the country will prepare businesses for potential terrorist threat, which is at the highest level in Singapore over a decade.
He made the remarks at the National Security Conference, where he launched the SGSecure Guide for Workplaces. The Guide is a guidebook for businesses that lays out what they should do in case of terrorist attack.
According to Teo, Singapore's businesses need to prepare the workforce to deal with the terrorist threat, create protected workplaces with response plans ready to kick in should an incident occur, and partner the community to maintain vigilance and improve the readiness to respond.
"Our business sector has a key role to play in helping to build cohesion, harmony and trust in Singapore," Teo said.
