Myanmar's parliament to resume 6th sessions on Oct. 17

YANGON, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's 6th parliamentary sessions of both Houses will resume in Nay Pyi Taw on Oct. 17, according to an announcement of the parliament late Monday.

In the resuming parliament sessions, additional state budget is expected to be adopted and some laws be promulgated.

During the last session of the union parliament, a total of 20 laws were enacted with 16 draft laws adopted and 23 proposals submitted to the House of Representatives (Lower House).

The last 5th parliamentary sessions started on May 18 and was adjourned on Aug. 31.

The current parliament was formed through the general election in November 2015 and dominated by election-winning National League for Democracy party.
