Indian markets open lower

MUMBAI, Sept. 25 (xinhua) -- Indian markets opened lower Monday, with Equity benchmarks kicking off a new week with negative notes dragged by heavyweight shares like HDFC, amid gaining Asian peers.

The benchmark SP & BSE Sensex opened at 31,714.78, 207.66 points or 0.65 percent down compared to its previous close at 31,922.44.
