KABUL, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan intelligence agency personnel have busted a four-member terrorist group in Aybak, northern Afghanistan, said National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Thursday.

"Personnel of NDS have busted a terrorist group of Taliban outfit during a recent operation in Aybak city, capital of Samangan province. A total of four arrests, including a would-be suicide bomber, were made during the raid in surrounding areas of Aybak," NDS, the country's primary intelligence agency, said in a statement.

The arrestees admitted to have the membership of Taliban outfit and they tried to coordinate and launch terrorist attacks in Samangan, the statement said, adding that the timely arrest of the men has foiled major terror attacks and saved the province, some 215 km north of Kabul, from an expected tragedy.

The statement also revealed the names of the captured people as Amruddin, Mohammad Nahim, Rawzatullah and Noor Aqa.
