Armenia, Lebanon to strengthen bilateral economic ties

YEREVAN, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan Wednesday met here with visiting Lebanese Minister of Tourism Avedis Guidanian on promoting bilateral economic ties, according to the official website of the Armenian government.

The Armenian prime minister emphasized the need to develop bilateral relations not only in the sphere of tourism, but also in other economic fields such as light industry, agriculture and IT.

Karapetyan also encouraged Lebanese businessmen to attend a huge economic and investment conference which will take place next fall in Armenia.

The Lebanese minister said that there was a high interest among Lebanese tourists visiting Armenia and their goal is to double the number of tourist arrivals in Armenia.

According to Guidanian, the Lebanese side agreed with the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia to realize several targeted activities to boost development of relationship in the tourism sector.
