WARSAW, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Poland's biggest military exercise this year, Dragon-17, kicked off in Zegrze on Wednesday with about 17,000 soldiers taking part.
Participating units include troops from the United States, Britain, Germany and several other countries.
Dragon-17 Commander General Jaroslaw Mika said one of its main objectives was to test the command of Poland's 12th Mechanized Division, which co-forms NATO's Multinational Corps Northeast.
Polish forces will also coordinate with the enhanced Forward Presence units and Armored Brigade Combat Team, which constitute a part of the NATO's eastern flank strengthening.
The Dragon exercise is held once every two years.
