Albanian gov't to fully support bodies for judges, prosecutors' vetting

TIRANA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Albanian government remains committed to fully support the new bodies established to "vet" around 800 judges and prosecutors of Albanian justice system, Albanian Justice Minister Etilda Gjoni told reporters Wednesday.

The vetting bodies were set up in the framework of the justice reform.

"The vetting bodies who will vet around 800 judges and prosecutors in Albania for their professional ability, moral integrity and independence from organised crime, corruption and political officials, will have government's full support," Gjoni told media.

She also said that the members of the vetting bodies were ready to start the screening of judges and prosecutors.
