TALLINN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Estonia on Tuesday signed the Tallinn e-energy declaration with the aim of digitizing the energy market further.

It was signed by Estonian Minister for Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Kadri Simson and European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete.

The declaration recognizes the importance of the Paris Agreement, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the role of the European Union in fighting climate change with its on-going transition to a low carbon economy.

EU member states and EU industry associations are expected to sign the declaration, as the signatories aim to enhance cooperation between the public sector and companies.

"Building the secure energy sector of the future requires broad cooperation among all stakeholders," Simson said, highlighting digitalization and energy.
