BERLIN, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Miniature Wonderland is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Hamburg's old harbor district, and now its creators, twin brothers Frederik and Gerrit Braun, are sending out a clear message to non-voters in Germany.

Using their skills in modeling landscapes and scenes in 1:87, they recorded and uploaded a video called "the apocalyptic non-voter and his consequences" that shows burning homes, cars washed away by mud waves and finally an atomic cloud on the horizon.

In an interview with "Spiegel," Frederik Braun said he got the idea when he heard on radio that the participation in this year's election might reach a historical low.

Braun made clear that the video was not advertising for any specific party. "I do not care at all which democratic party people vote for," Braun said, adding that the "main thing is they vote" at all.

The video has already been viewed more than 1.5 million times and has caused some controversy in Germany. On social media, many are supportive but some are demanding that commercial enterprises stay out of politics.

"I would rather lose some customers than my soul," Braun replied to the criticism. He added that he and his brother had used the Miniature Wonderland's publicity before to draw attention to important issues.

With more than 15 km of model train rails, the miniature land that was founded 16 years ago by the Braun brothers is the world's largest model train landscape.
