JAKARTA, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is expecting more tourist arrivals from Middle East countries through the opening of regular flights linking Iranian capital Tehran with resort island of Bali scheduled next month.

The flights serving Tehran to Indonesia's Bali province capital of Denpasar would be served by Iranian airlines Mahan Air every Saturday, Indonesian authorities said.

Responding to the planned flight service connecting Teheran to Denpasar, Indonesia's Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said domestic travel agencies should grab this opportunity by selling tour packages for them to national destinations.

To accommodate the massive influx of foreign tourists in Bali, the airport would expand its facilities that include addition of plane parking areas and check in counters, he added.

Indonesia has set target to receive 340,000 tourists from Middle East countries this year, or 13.3 percent higher than 300,000 last year.
