Dollar changes hands in lower 109 yen zone in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Thursday, largely in line with its levels seen overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.15-16 yen compared with 109.19-29 yen in New York and 108.78-80 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1926-1927 dollars and 130.18-19 yen against 1.1911-1921 dollars and 130.12-22 yen in New York and 1.1933-1935 dollars and 129.81-85 yen in late Wednesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
