DHAKA, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Three bodies burned beyond recognition were found after Bangladesh's security forces stormed a militant hideout on Wednesday in capital, an official said.

Bangladesh's anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) spokesman Mufti Mahmud Khan told reporters Wednesday that "three burned bodies were seen in a room on the fourth floor of the building."

The bodies could not be recovered due to sweltering heat caused by fire triggered by the blast on Tuesday, he said.

Khan said the suspected militants might have killed themselves in a series of explosions that rocked the militant hideout Tuesday night.

The blasts resulted in a big fire visible from far off areas.

Several units of fire fighters were seen to spray water on Wednesday morning at the building and assisted the law enforcers who resumed operation from 9:30 a.m. local time Wednesday with bomb disposal units and dog squads.

At least three heavy blasts were heard from inside the six-storey building since about 9:00 p.m. local time Tuesday night.

A huge blast inside the building tilted it towards one side.

At least four RAB personnel were injured last night due to the blasts.

RAB early Tuesday cordoned off the building in capital Dhaka, where militants were suspected of being holed up.

The raid came following information given by suspects of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) detained in a raid on a house in the country's central Tangail district, 97 km away from Dhaka, earlier in the night.

Security has been tightened in Bangladesh after militants attacked a Spanish cafe in Dhaka's Gulshan on July 1, which left 22 people, mostly foreigners, dead.
