HONG KONG, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Poly Auction Hong Kong will present over 1,000 items in the 2017 autumn auction, with estimated sales to reach about 800 million HK dollars (about 102 million U.S. dollars), the auction house said on Tuesday.

To be held on Sept. 30-Oct. 3, the auction selected works from modern and contemporary art, Chinese paintings, Chinese ceramics and works of art, jewels, watches and wine, according to Poly Auction Hong Kong.

Alex Chang, managing director of the company, told Xinhua during the media preview on Tuesday that the auction market in Hong Kong became relatively steady and less active compared to previous years due to the global macroeconomic trend.

"The number of auction items is about half size of that in last year, but on the other hand, the demand for the most refined and rare works is still high, so we mainly focus on special auctions this year," he said.

For example, the Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art department of Poly Auction Hong Kong will reveal a special private collection of Yongle Imperial Buddhist Sculpture, including 11 bronze figures, constituting the largest and most comprehensive presentation of bronze figures from Yongle period (1402-1424) of the Ming Dynatry for a decade, according to the auction house.
