SARAJEVO, Sept. 4 (Xinhua)-- Breaking all previous monthly records, Sarajevo International Airport (SIA) welcomed 144, 330 passengers in August, hitting a new record, SIA press office said Monday.
SIA said on its website that it recorded the greatest number of passengers in one month in the history of this airport, representing an increase of 22.0 percent year-on-year.
The cargo through the airport climbed at the fastest rate ever recorded at the BiH's largest airport, up 15 percent to 217,745 kg in August.
A total of 1,508 air traffic operations were performed in August, recording 20.0 percent increase year-on-year.
The airport served 668,338 passengers in the first eight months of this year, an increase of over 14.0 percent year-on-year, representing more than the total number of passengers passing through airport in 2013.
SIA currently hosts 15 airline companies, linking Sarajevo with 17 destinations.
