Kyrgyz security services bust int'l drug trafficking syndicate

BISHKEK, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's security services broke the spine of an international drug trafficking syndicate and seized 29 kilograms of Afghan charas, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported on Monday.

During the operational-search activities, the security officers of Kyrgyzstan detained a car in the southern region of the country and busted the international drug trafficking channel.

During the inspection of the car, 29 kilograms of drugs (Afghan charas) were seized, which were to be sent to the Commonwealth of Independent States by transit through the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

A criminal case is filed on the fact.

The National Security Committee conducts investigative and operational activities aimed at identifying, tracing and detaining organizers and other persons involved in this crime.
