BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang met with Burundi Senate Speaker Reverien Ndikuriyo on Monday.

China will work with Burundi to implement the outcomes of the Johannesburg summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and deepen cooperation in various areas, said Zhang, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.

China's NPC is willing to have closer exchanges with the Burundi Senate to contribute to the development of bilateral relations, Zhang said.

Ndikuriyo said Burundi adheres to the one-China policy and thanked China for its support of Burundi, expressing hope for more cooperation with China.
