France and Germany take gold medals on fourth day of 2017 World Judo Championships

BUDAPEST, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- France and Germany took away gold medals in women's 63kg and men's 81kg categories respectively on the fourth day of the 2017 World Judo Championships here on Thursday.

German Alexander Wieczerzak, a Grand Slam Tyumen 2015 bronze medalist, clinched the precious major title after beating Italian Matteo Marconcini. Two bronze medals went to Russian Khasan Khalmurzaev and Saeid Mollaei from Iran.

China's Erihemubatu, was eliminated after two victories by eventual winner Wieczerzak, while Gao Haiyuan lost in the fight against Jaehyung Lee from South Korea.

In the women's 63kg category, Rio Olympic silver medalist Clarisse Agbegnenou of France triumphed over Slovenia's Tina Trstenjak, while Mungunchimeg Baldorj from Mongolia and Agata Ozdoba from Poland both bagged bronze.

Abgegnenou is a proud silver medalist of the Rio Olympic Games. Her results include the gold medals in World Championships Chelyabinsk 2014 and the Dusseldorf Grand Prix 2017, as well as the silver medal in Paris Grand Slam 2017.

Yang Junxia of China finished fifth in women's 63kg category.
