NAIROBI, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's fastest growing online shopping mall Kilimall, which is owned by Chinese investors, on Tuesday secured exclusive rights to market new Infinix and Tecno Smartphone brands.

Kilimall said in a statement that it will be the sole distributor of Tecno Spark and three Infinix models-Infinix Note 4 Pro, Infinix Hot5 and Infinix Hot5 Lite starting from August 28.

The firm's Head of Kenya Business Norah Akello said the new Tecno and Infinix brands are tailor-made for young, urban middle classes whose appetite for luxury products is on the rise thanks to increasing disposable income.

"Infinix and Tecno are known quality brands and we are glad they agreed to exclusively market their newest models through us," said Akello.

"Over 50 percent of the phones we are selling are Infinix and Tecno and it is due to this reason that we are getting this opportunity to be the sole online sellers of these flagship models," she added.

Kenyan youth will be able to purchase Tecno Spark at a cost of 100 U.S. dollars through Kilimall's online platforms. Its main features include a storage capacity of 16 gigabytes, a fingerprint sensor and an upgraded camera.

A statement from Kilimall indicated that Infinix Note 4 Pro that will sell at 190.5 dollars is an upgrade of the popular Note 4 and its main features include a fast charging battery, an intuitive stylus pen and branded Xpen.

It added that Infinix Hot5 and Infinix Hot5 Lite's whose retail prices are 102 dollars and 80.4 dollars respectively have state of the art features like a 3D stereo surround technology which gives the phones a home theatre experience.

Both Infinix and Tecno Smartphone brands have in the recent past gained traction among Kenyan consumers due to their affordability and quality.

Carter Tang, the Infinix Mobility Kenyan Managing Director said the partnership with Kilimall was a game changer in the quest to have a stronger footprint in the East African Nation's vibrant Smartphone market.

"This is one of many future partnerships we will have with Kilimall, because more and more Kenyans are buying online, and that's a market we are prioritizing," Tang said.
