KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Up to 21 people including 20 militants and one police personnel were killed after a clash erupted in the southern province of Kandahar late Monday night, police spokesman in the province Zia Durani said Tuesday.
Ten more militants, according to the official, sustained injuries in the clash which took place in Band-e-Timur area of Miwand district late Monday night and lasted for hours also left one police personnel dead.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of Kandahar province haven't commented.
