BERLIN, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Sentiment among German service providers improved in August for the second consecutive month, the Ifo research institute reported on Monday.
The business climate index of service sector rose from 109.8 points in July to 110.5 points in August, which was due to far greater optimism over business expectations, the Munich-based think tank reported.
However, service providers slightly scaled back their assessments of the current business situation, which remains at a good level.
The report noted that many service providers are planning to raise prices in the coming months.
Ifo is one of Europe's leading research institutes. Its business survey for the service sector is based on about 2,500 monthly survey responses from firms in key segments of the tertiary sector.
