NAIROBI, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong of China broke the hearts of Kenyan fans in Nairobi on Saturday when they ran out 43-34 winners over the hosts in their second World Rugby Test at the Rugby Union of East Africa (RFUEA) Grounds on Saturday.
The result saw The Dragons clinch the Tatu Series trophy after forcing Kenya Simbas (Lions) to a 19-19 stalemate in the first Test last weekend played at the same venue.
Hong Kong ran in four tries, four conversions and five penalties against four converted tries and two penalties from the Kenyans.
Matt Roslee got Hong Kong underway when he opened the scoring by kicking over two penalties but Simbas hauled themselves level at 6-6 with a couple of their own at a packed RFUEA.
Roslee put in a commanding performance with the boot then stretched the lead to 9-6 as he converted two more penalties before Kyle Sullivan crossed Kenya's whitewash for the first try of the afternoon.
Roslee converted to put his team 16-6 up at the break.
The game resumed with Roslee stretching his side's advantage with another successful penalty before he converted his side's second try for a 26-6 lead.
Hong Kong scored their third try through Alex Wai-Shing before Simbas touched down for the first time through Homeboyz RFC winger Tony Onyango with Darwin Mukidza adding the extras.
Samson Onsomu bagged Simba's second five-pointer to bring the scores to 20-33 to get the crowd excited as they anticipated another comeback with 20 minutes of the 80 to go.
Once again, it fell to Roslee to keep the charging Kenyans at bay when he scored another penalty.
However, Simbas fought back through Davies Chenge who grounded a superb solo try when he stormed through the field to ground the ball with a try just near the posts for Mukidza to have an easy conversion.
Hong Kong would, however, extend the lead to 43-27 with a converted try but Mukidza reduced the deficit again to nine points as he converted his own try.
With two minutes to the hooter, Simbas could not get the two unanswered tries they needed for victory as The Dragons held on for a famous victory on tour.
Both sides return to action in November when they travel to a three-week Four Nations Hong Kong Cup in a tournament that has also attracted Russia and Chile.
