KATHMANDU, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba embarked on a five-day state visit to India on Wednesday.

During his trip, Deuba will be staying at the Presidential Palace in the Indian capital as a state guest, according to Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, parliament members, government secretaries and other high-ranking officials are accompanying the prime minister.

Deuba will be holding talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Thursday.
