WINDHOEK, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's tourism sector in the near future can be one of the strong pillars of economic growth in the country after the mining and fishing sectors, according to Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, Zhang Yiming.
Zhang highlighted this on Tuesday during his first media engagement in the country, since he presented his Letter of Credence earlier in August.
Zhang said the tourism sector has big potential in the country and to achieve its full growth, the Namibian government needs to strengthen their facilities to accommodate tourists.
According to Zhang, around 10,000 Chinese tourists visit Namibia annually but the figures could improve, if Namibia can make provisions for large number of tourists in the country.
He said that many things can be done in terms of infrastructure to be able to accommodate larger influx of tourists.
He added he is more than willing to work together with Namibia, to seek constructive solutions in the creation of a win-win partnership.
