NEW YORK, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- A high-speed train crashed into a parked unoccupied train early Tuesday in a station on the outskirts of the U.S. eastern city of Philadelphia, injuring at least 42 people, authorities said.
Heather Redfern, a spokeswoman for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, said that 42 people, including the train conductor, were injured after the inbound Norristown High Speed train crashed into an empty train at the 69th Street Terminal in the city's Upper Darby suburb.
All of the injuries appear to be non life-threatening, she said, adding that the conductor had been treated at a hospital and then released.
The local transportation department is investigating the cause of the accident that occurred just after midnight.
Norristown trains are now operating normally, Redfern said.
A commuter train derailed during rush hour in New York City in early January, killing more than 100 people.
