JAKARTA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government has rescheduled announcement of a big economic stimulus package, which was initially planned after the celebration of Independence Day on Aug. 17, an official said on Monday.

The stimulus package, including a big deregulation package, is expected to significantly improve procedures of investment in the archipelagic nation.

"The announcement has been decided to be delayed," presidential spokesman Johan Budi said at the State Palace.

The spokesman did not give further details.

Chief Economic Minister Darmin Nasution has said that the stimulus package would facilitate the process of licensing in investment.
